Some facts about MaltaThe Maltese Islands consist of three inhabited islands, Malta, Gozo and Comino. The Maltese Islands lie in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea with Malta ninety three kilometers south of Sicily and two hundred and thirty kilometers north of Africa. The total area of The Maltese Islands is approximately three hundred and sixteen square kilometers. The longest distance in Malta is about twenty seven kilometers. The official language of the country is Maltese with our second language which is English. Most of the citizens can speak both languages. Our currency is The Maltese Lira which is equivalent to 100cents. Malta’s climate is one of the most agreeable climates in the whole Mediterranean. Our winters are mostly warm and sunny having only a few showers every now and then and our summers are also always hot and sunny but still having cool breezes in the nighttime especially by the sea! One of the main hobbies of the Maltese is shopping! In Malta you find various shopping centers with various shops varying from Food and Drink, Medical Supplies, Clothing and Shoes, Games and Computer Appliances.
